The majority of respondents estimated the efficiency of the Federal and Regional Programs of Preferential Provision of Medicines as &amp;laquo;good&amp;raquo; (80% and 84% respectively). The provision of state health care institutions with medicines was estimated &amp;laquo;as rather good than bad&amp;raquo; by 50% of respondents. The Regional and target programs in this sphere were estimated as &amp;laquo;completely effective&amp;raquo; by 42% of the respondents, and &amp;laquo;not quite effective&amp;raquo; by 10%. For further drug policy improvement in Omsk Region the respondents proposed to increase the budget of the Federal Program only (38% of respondents), to increase the budget of both the Federal and Regional programs (24%), to increase the number of services and the choice of medicines for children (8% each) etc. The problems aroused will help to develop some actions aimed at improving the efficiency of drug policy for the region.</p></abstract><trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>The article covers the results of interviewing the heads of health care institutions in regard of implementation of drug policy in Omsk Region.
